We had an amazing Writers’ Community of York Region meeting. After three years at the helm, I’m stepping aside to become Past President of WCYR. Elaine, our Vice-President, surprised me with a lovely farewell from my colleagues. The members followed with a standing ovation. Wow! Being the sentimental woman that I am, I got all emotional. I did manage to make a decent thank you speech, but as I opened the gift certificates for Blue Heron Books, the LCBO and Hungry Brew Hops, the new brew pub in Newmarket, I teared up again.
