Autumn is a time for contemplation. As we turn the page on another season, it’s as if Nature is echoing what we feel instinctively – the dulling of colours as dead leaves are shoved around by the hand of the wind, flaming branches of maples and the golden poplars whispering in that same wind. Because the weather has been so damp and cool, the fall flowers are stunning – great swathes of hydrangeas turning blush pink in the frost, florid sedums, gigantic stands of Rudbeckia and Echinacea.
