It’s the truth. We all tell lies. And we’re all lied to. Politicians try to bribe us with promises built on spending OUR money. False prophets hawk miracle cures. Celebutantes persuade the gullible that their product can make someone slimmer or more popular or grow thick lustrous hair. Even Dr. Oz got caught out shilling ‘miracle’ pills. The problem is that so many of the poor folks who listen in rapt attention believe that this herb or that root will improve their lives. Sad, but true. We believe because we want to believe.
