Kiva changes lives – all you have to do is invest a few hundred dollars. You can pay with a credit card. Honestly, most of us wouldn’t miss a small amount, but how that money can multiply with Kiva loans.
Years ago, I donated $400US. In the intervening years, I have made 65 loans to women and men around the world. You can do this. Just think, if you cut back on one designer coffee a day, that’s $100 dollars or so a month. You won’t miss it, but that cash can make a tremendous difference in the lives of the working poor, for whom a small microfinance loan can mean the difference between subsistence and success as an entrepreneur.
What is Kiva? It is a non-profit organization with a mission to connect people through lending to alleviate poverty. Leveraging the internet and a worldwide network of microfinance institutions, Kiva lets individuals lend as little as $25 to help create opportunity around the world.
