We love beer. Belgian beer, Italian beer, Polish lager, Greek beer, even Thai beer served over ice in a frosted mug. Every summer we host an International Beer and Food Festival and luckily, because everyone brings at least a six-pack, we end up with a nice selection of cold ones that last through many dinners of brats and burgers grilled to a turn on the barbecue.

We were trolling the new LCBO on Leslie Street south of David Drive and wandered into the beer room to ogle the selections. Aside from our tested regulars, there was a selection of playful new offerings I couldn’t resist photographing the cans on the shelves.

Gone are the days of stodgy tall bottles hidden behind a counter staffed by stern looking guys in scalp-baring haircuts, suits and ties.

Long live the new-age brewsky!
