Inspiration has fled. Weather is dull and muggy. It’s too early for wine. I’m ironing and sewing like a fiend. Productivity feels good!

Good grief. Where has the day gone? I’ve been ironing like a mad fiend (more on that later), sewing a wardrobe of new skirts, sitting outside wallowing in the glorious sunshine and writing, writing, writing. I’ve lost track of time. My WordPress dashboard looks all stripped down for some reason. I can’t insert media. Damn it, something has been updated but I don’t know why or by whom. Wasn’t me. Wasn’t my trusty WebMan.Not only am I late writing my post, now I can’t figure out how to get what I want to post. Went to GOogle – nothing comes up. Argggghhhh. I hope I haven’t been hacked. Didn’t need this aggravation. My apologies. I’m going for a walk. I’ll try again tomorrow. Enjoy,…

Oh my, but my keyboard has been smokin’ today. Several months ago, I signed up for a weekend intensive Master Class with Barbara Kyle. Paid for it right away lest I get cold feet and decide to do something else like weed the flower beds. Bobby Rotenberg recommends it and he’s a successful author. Learn from the best, right? I had to send her the first 10 pages of my novel which she said she “read with interest”. That’s one of those turns of phrases you use when you don’t really know what to say, good or bad. I get that. A huge shout out to my good friends at the Writers’ Community of York Region (WCYR). Last June, at our final meeting of the early 2014 season, the members and my colleagues on the Executive ambushed me with a lovely farewell. I’m not going anywhere far, I’m just moving on from being President to being Past President. I’m a firm believer in regenerative turnover. I’d been President since September 2011 when WCYR was born. Three years was a nice run. I’ve met some amazing writers and authors, both beginners and professionals and I’m very grateful…

I was so frazzled yesterday afternoon thinking about responding to the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge and whether I had the courage to pour cold water and chunks of ice over my head that I lost my concentration and just averted disaster. I’d spent the afternoon burning through three tanks (small ones, mind you) of gasoline as I string-trimmed all of the lawns and flower beds. After months of neglect I left a size 60 carbon footprint. But on my, everything looked so tidy and well barbered. Next up was the amazing weed fryer machine. I humped the propane tank and torched the green fuzz from the front steps. Next up – the knee high overgrowth on the back patio. Now the machine would be…
