Hong Kong Panoramic

I’m not sure if anyone will notice, but I won’t be posting for the next three weeks (unless I can hook up with no-cost wi-fi somewhere). Hub and I will be leaving Friday for Hong Kong and Thailand for a couple of weeks.

This will be our first trip to Hong Kong, so we plan to visit all of the sights – Victoria Peak, Nathan Street, the Giant Buddha, some museums. Generally though, we’ll walk a lot through Kowloon and revel in the crowds. It’s the other side of the world and totally another reality being in Asia.

We loved Thailand when we were there last November – the gentle people (when politics are not involved), the climate, the amazing temples and historical sites, the island of Koh Samui, visiting with the handsome C and the lovely I. We think it’s wonderful that we can go on holidays with our children and enjoy them as adults who also happen to be amazingly accomplished. And of course, I can’t forget the shopping – Siam Paragon, MBK mega-mall, the street vendors (Viagra and flip-flops, anyone?).

We’re spending five days at Soneva Kiri, a spectacular Six Senses Resort, so that should be a great opportunity to wind down in our own beach villa, do some snorkelling, read, hand out together, and whatever other ways we can think of!

I’ll get caught up on the writing when we return!
